The call for Puistokatu 4 membership is open!
We are looking for new researcher and agent members to join the Puistokatu 4 community to work towards a more ecologically sustainable future. The new members will be able to start working in Puistokatu in January 2024.
Welcome to Puistokatu 4 to build a good life within planetary boundaries! As a Puistokatu 4 member, you will meet people from different sectors and backgrounds, expand your network and strengthen your role as a change-maker.
There are two types of membership at Puistokatu 4:
- Researcher membership for researchers whose work focuses on building an ecologically sustainable future
- Agent membership for organisations, freelancers, businesses and other organisations whose work focuses on building an ecologically sustainable future
Membership can be applied for up to 12 months at a time. The maximum period of membership is 24 months. Once your actual membership ends, you will become part of the Puistokatu 4 alumni network.
During the first year of operation in 2023, 29 researcher members and 18 actor members or organisations have worked at Puistokatu 4.
Researcher membership
The researcher membership of Puistokatu 4 is intended for researchers whose research project deals with building an ecologically sustainable future and whose work is affiliated with a research organisation.
As a researcher of the Puistokatu 4’s Science Attic, you will become a part of a community that shares a vision of a good life within the planetary boundaries. Research and scientific knowledge are the cornerstones of Puistokatu 4, which is why membership of the Science Attic is free.
Our researcer members are expected to be an interactive part of the Puistokatu 4 community, and to be open to the multiple solutions to the ecological crisis. A track record in using research to make a difference is considered an advantage.
In its first year of operation, Puistokatu 4 has employed 29 researchers from almost as many disciplines and 13 different universities. You can get to know them here!

Agent membership
The fee-based agent membership of Puistokatu 4 is intended for social and commercial operators whose activities are centred on solution-oriented building for an ecologically sustainable future. Please note that the operator membership is personal.
As an agent member working on the 2nd floor of our building, you will become part of a community that shares the same vision about a good life within the planetary boundaries. Our actor members are expected to be open-minded towards multiple ecological crisis solution models and willing to be an interactive part of the Puistokatu 4 community.
