Over 40 new members have joined Puistokatu 4 — meet the researchers and agent members of a Space of Science and Hope!
In 2026, a total of 77 members will be working towards building a more ecologically sustainable future on Puistokatu. Meet our new members below!
Puistokatu 4 has welcomed 28 new researcher members and 14 new agent members. In addition, 18 researcher members and 17 agent members from last year’s membership will continue at Puistokatu 4.
The members were selected from 134 applications received during the open application period in November-December. All Puistokatu 4 researcher and agent members are connected by their work for an ecologically sustainable future.
Researchers represent over 30 different fields of study
The researcher members of Puistokatu 4 represent more than 30 different fields of study. This year, research at Puistokatu will be conducted in fields such as ecology, media studies, architecture, philosophy, and economics. The researchers come from 17 different universities and research institutes. Among them are professors as well as doctoral researchers at the beginning of their careers.
“Building an ecologically sustainable future requires all disciplines and, in particular, interdisciplinary cooperation so that we can build shared situational awaraness and envision futures worth striving for,” says Minttu Jaakkola, Executive Director of Puistokatu 4.

Agent members bring expertise from poetry to oceanography
Puistokatu 4’s agent members represent societal and commercial actors. The newly elected agent members bring expertise in sustainability consulting, poetry, journalism, and graphic design to Puistokatu.
“The agent members bring practical activities and work to Puistokatu, which fruitfully complements the expertise of the researchers. It will be exciting to see what kind of joint discussions and activities develop between our members this year,” says Jaakkola.
