Welcome to Puistokatu 4 to build a good life within planetary boundaries! As a Puistokatu 4 member, you will meet people from different sectors and backgrounds, expand your network and strengthen your role as a change-maker.<\/p>\n

There are two types of membership at Puistokatu 4:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Researcher membership<\/a> for researchers whose work focuses on building an ecologically sustainable future<\/li>\n
  2. Agent membership<\/a> for organisations, freelancers, businesses and other organisations whose work focuses on building an ecologically sustainable future<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Membership can be applied for up to 12 months at a time. The maximum period of membership is 24 months. Once your actual membership ends, you will become part of the Puistokatu 4 alumni network.<\/p>\n

    During the first year of operation in 2023, 29 researcher members and 18 actor members or organisations have worked at Puistokatu 4.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Researcher membership<\/h2>\n

    The researcher membership of Puistokatu 4 is intended for researchers whose research project deals with building an ecologically sustainable future and whose work is affiliated with a research organisation.<\/p>\n

    As a researcher of the Puistokatu 4’s Science Attic, you will become a part of a community that shares a vision of a good life within the planetary boundaries. Research and scientific knowledge are the cornerstones of Puistokatu 4, which is why membership of the Science Attic is free.<\/p>\n

    Our researcer members are expected to be an interactive part of the Puistokatu 4 community, and to be open to the multiple solutions to the ecological crisis. A track record in using research to make a difference is considered an advantage.<\/p>\n

    In its first year of operation, Puistokatu 4 has employed 29 researchers from almost as many disciplines and 13 different universities. You can get to know them here!<\/a><\/p>\n

    We warmly welcome applications from people of different ages, genders, disabilities, linguistic, cultural and other minorities. Positive discrimination may apply.<\/p>\n

    “At Puistokatu 4, there is a great understanding that happiness is important and possible even in times of ecological crisis. The space has a constructive and gentle atmosphere, which makes it a good place to do research. Puistokatu 4 also gives me hope for a better working life. That there are wonderful working communities where difficult things are done with ambition, and at the same time within the limits of people’s ability to cope.<\/em>” (Researcher feedback, autumn 2023).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Agent membership<\/h2>\n

    The fee-based agent membership of Puistokatu 4 is intended for social and commercial operators whose activities are centred on solution-oriented building for an ecologically sustainable future. Please note that the operator membership is personal.<\/p>\n

    As an agent member working on the 2nd floor of our building, you will become part of a community that shares the same vision about a good life within the planetary boundaries. Our actor members are expected to be open-minded towards multiple ecological crisis solution models and willing to be an interactive part of the Puistokatu 4 community.<\/p>\n

    Currently, 14 members and organisations are working at Puistokatu 4, aiming to build an ecologically sustainable future. You can find out more about our actor members here!<\/a><\/p>\n
